Job Role: College Teaching Assistant
Pay: GBP65-GBP75 per day
Contract Length: February 2020 to July 2020 with extension and permanent contract opportunities available

College Teaching Assistants are required for a provision in Isleworth, Hounslow for young adults in education with special educational needs. They are searching for EIGHT pro-active Teaching Assistants to join their expanding team in the college. With all students aged 16 – 25 years old, the college are looking for either someone who has previous experience and confidence working with young adults in education or backgrounds in care settings.
College Teaching Assistant long-term contracts begin immediately with the successful teaching assistant being required to commit until July 2020 minimally. There are opportunities to extend or take on permanent contracts within the school if this is what you want to do.
The college will provide you with in-house support, opportunities for career progression and a challenging but rewarding environment to work and develop in. You will be working amongst like minded Teaching Assistants and specialists in the field where creative and engaging methods of support are promoted.
The college Teaching Assistant roles are from Monday – Friday each week from 8:45 to 4:00pm with all staff required to be punctual due to the varying needs of the students. Teaching Assistants will be expected to support young adults with learning in class, within the community support with their care plans.
College Teaching Assistant - Requirements;
- Experience working in colleges or with young adults
- Experience in care or in special need settings
- Experience/ willingness to support with personal care (toileting support), moving and handling (hoisting) or positive behaviour management (Team Teach training provided at a subsidised rate)
- Genuine interest in starting or developing career working with young adults with SEN
- Available for work immediately and full-time
