College Teacher in Slough

Job description

A Specialist School in Slough is seeking to appoint a Teacher to work with a small class of Post 16 Pupils with Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs is desired but not essential if you are a confident Teacher and experienced teaching Post 16. The school will offer training and there will be numerous highly experienced teaching assistants on hand to support the pupil's individual needs.

This is a full time position starting in the new academic year. The Head Teacher is more than happy to meet with Teachers as soon as possible. He will schedule in an informal chat to discuss the role and show you around the school taking you in to the Post 16 class requiring the Teacher. If you are still interested you will get to spend a day shadowing and teaching a lesson or two yourself. This is a fantastic opportunity to see if this is the right role for you in September.

The ideal Teacher would have:

The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners
Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton (training can be provided)
Happy to teach pupils with PMLD
