Part-Time Classroom Support Assistant – Ideal for Students
Location: Newton Abbot and surrounding areas
Job Type: Part-Time / Flexible
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £13.84 - £15.38 per hour (depending on experience)

Are you currently studying for a part-time degree in education or a related field and looking to gain practical classroom experience?

Teaching Personnel is offering the perfect opportunity for aspiring educators to gain hands-on experience in local Primary Schools across Newton Abbot, while working around your studies.

This part-time Classroom Support Assistant role is designed with flexibility in mind — ideal for students who want to start their journey into teaching with real classroom exposure.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2

  • Working with pupils 1:1 or in small groups to support their learning

  • Assisting with classroom activities such as phonics, literacy and numeracy

  • Gaining valuable experience in behaviour management, SEN support, and differentiated teaching

  • You're currently studying part-time (e.g. Education, Childhood Studies, Psychology, etc.)

  • You're passionate about a future career in teaching or school support

  • You’re looking to build classroom experience alongside your academic studies

  • You’re enthusiastic, reliable and eager to learn

Requirements:

  • Availability for part-time work during school hours (Mon–Fri, term-time)

  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

  • The ability to travel to schools in the Newton Abbot area

  • A positive and proactive attitude with a genuine desire to work in education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
