Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Classroom Support Assistant to join a welcoming specialist primary school in Bury, working with pupils aged 3-11 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support children in developing communication, independence, confidence, and essential life skills within a nurturing educational environment.

What You'll Be Doing

✨ Supporting pupils individually and within small groups throughout the school day

✨ Helping to deliver tailored learning activities linked to EHCP outcomes

✨ Encouraging communication, engagement, and social interaction

✨ Assisting with sensory-based, practical, and play-led learning experiences

✨ Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

✨ Supporting pupils with personal care needs where required

Who We're Looking For

✔ Experience working with children or young people with SEND

✔ A calm, patient, and nurturing approach

✔ Confidence supporting pupils with complex learning needs

✔ Excellent communication and teamwork skills

✔ A positive attitude and genuine passion for helping children succeed

⭐ Additional Experience That Would Be Beneficial

➕ Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, AAC, or other communication strategies

➕ Previous experience within a specialist school or SEND environment

➕ Relevant qualifications in education, health care, or SEND

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
