£100 - £150 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you looking for more flexibility in your teaching? Are you looking for less planning and marking? Are you looking to work with smaller classes of vulnerable children?

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a school based in Seacroft, Leeds (LS14) that are looking for a Year 6 Class Teacher to join their team. The school is easily accessible by public transport from Leeds, Wakefield and surrounding areas and the role is full time and ongoing, to start 5th November.

The school is an Alternative Provision that is part of a Multi-Academy Trust in Leeds. The Trust has had three brand new schools built across Leeds, this school being one of them, that are completely state of the art and tailored to meet the needs of the students that attend. The students that the provision caters to are across Years 6 - 11 and they all have EHCP statements of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. There will be elements of challenging behaviour, absconding and emotional distress from the students so we are looking for someone who can be resilient to this, yet nurturing and therapeutic in their approach. It is essential that you have the Team Teach training or that you are willing to undertake it.

As a Class Teacher you will be expected to:

  • Deliver the Primary curriculum to Year 6 students, some of which may be performing at a lower age academically
  • Motivate and engage the students with the help of classroom support
  • Maintain discipline
  • Liaise with staff, guardians and care workers to ensure the physical and mental safety of the students

By working through Teaching Personnel you will have access to the following benefits:

  • The opportunity to get a permanent placement in your ideal position and school
  • Ongoing support from your personal consultant
  • Access to up to date CPD and training
  • Flexible hours and fantastic rates of pay

If you are interested or you have any further questions then please contact Courtney in the Leeds Bradford SEN branch on the details provided!
