Chemistry Teacher
Job description
The Role
You will deliver engaging, high-quality Chemistry lessons to students aged 11–16 (and/or 11–18), turning complex concepts into exciting discoveries. You’ll encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence in the laboratory, while fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver inspiring Chemistry lessons aligned with the national curriculum

Lead practical experiments that develop investigative and analytical skills

Promote scientific thinking, problem-solving, and real-world applications of chemistry

Monitor, assess, and support student progress and achievement

Maintain high standards of laboratory safety and organisation
-
Contribute to curriculum development within the science department

Support extracurricular science activities, clubs, or enrichment opportunities

Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent)

Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Chemistry

Confidence delivering practical, hands-on experiments

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

A creative, student-centred approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
