About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Carpentry Teacher to join our dedicated Construction & Trades department in South Norwood. The successful candidate will inspire, motivate, and guide learners across a range of ages and abilities, helping them develop the technical skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in the carpentry and construction industries.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, practical carpentry lessons to students on vocational courses (Levels 1–3).

Support learners in developing workshop and site-based skills, ensuring safe working practices at all times.

Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.

Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement within the department.

Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and resources to a high standard.
About You
-
Qualified to Level 3 (or higher) in Carpentry and Joinery (or a related discipline).

Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.

Strong industry background and up-to-date knowledge of construction practices.

Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.

Passionate about supporting young people and adult learners to achieve their goals.
