The Role:

This Basingstoke School are looking for a Business teacher to teach on a full time basis in their school starting from April 2020 after the break. This is a permanent position with full teaching responsibilities. You will be joining an ambitious and well established department who promote autonomy within the department. Resources and best practice are regularly shared across the department and this would be encouraged with the successful candidate to ensure that the department are moving in the correct direction.

The applicant will need to be experienced and qualified to teach Business Studies at  KS3 and KS4 to a high quality. You will be expected to teach whole classes, plan and mark homework and class work, and to work fairly and firmly with your pupils to ensure that they achieve the correct level of attainment whilst maintaining the . The school are looking for a strong teacher with excellent classroom presence and a history of increasing attainment.

This role is suitable for an NQT and you will be completely supported throughout your induction year by a dedicated mentor for pedagogy as well as having a designated member of your faculty for advise and feedback with subject knowledge.

The school are currently “Require Improvement” and we often find that this is a great way to help bolster your career as the next Ofsted report is likely to improve judging on the way we have seen the staff and senior leadership team react to the Ofsted report. Ofsted also said “ Pupils are proud of their school. They are smartly dressed and respectful towards staff and visitors alike.” This is a great sign for any teacher moving into a new school, the school do not suffer with behaviour issues.

The school has great transport links with access via the M3 to Reading Southampton and London. They also have regular local bus routes and a Train station with regular services.
