Biology Teacher

Are you a Science teacher who specialises in Biology or has experience teaching Biology at GCSE level?

Are you looking for an introduction to your next full-time role this academic year, with potential progression opportunities?

If so, please see the details below of a full-time Biology teaching position that is set to commence in March 2019;

  • Full-time Science teacher required to teach a complete timetable of Biology lessons.
  • Teaching students aged 11-16 at KS3 and GCSE level.
  • Pay will be in line the newly introduced Minimum and Upper pay scale
  • Smaller than average Secondary school based in Leigh
  • Employment until the end of the academic year with a view to be taken onto a permanent contract

This position has arisen due to an upcoming maternity cover within our client Secondary schools' Science teaching faculty. The school will require the incoming Science teacher to start in March 2019 with a phased handover to be implemented for the successful candidate.

The Head of Science has highlighted that the incoming Biology teacher who will be joining the school on a full-time basis in January must be able to teach Biology to students aged 11-16 in an engaging manner in order to teach in line with the standards that have been set from the schools Head of Science.

It is essential that the incoming teacher is able to use effective and varied teaching methods in order to push their students to achieve excellent results at GCSE level, making it easier for them to regularly exceed their target grade.

  • The school is smaller than the average sized Secondary school which offers excellent focus on raising attainment for their pupils
  • The class sizes are small which allows teachers to enhance the learning opportunities for the pupils.
  • In their most recent Ofsted report, the school was commended for the support the Senior Leadership Team gives to all staff which cultivates a high standard of teaching.
  • It also highlighted that the pupils behave well and have a positive attitude to learning.
  • The school is located very close to the surrounding areas of Leigh and Tyldesley which offers excellent transport links to Bolton as well as the Wigan borough.

To register your interest in this Science teaching position then please send an updated CV to Zack or call the Manchester West Secondary Branch on 0161 242 1799.
