Salford Pru are looking for a Behaviour Assistant

  • Are you looking for a behaviour mentor role in the new academic year?
  • Do you want to work with children with challenging behaviours?
  • Are you local to the Salford, Bolton, Trafford area?

We are currently recruiting for a Salford based PRU who require bank staff to help support the development of a new full-time staff team, the roles could be to start immediately or for October 2017.

The PRU caters to the needs of up to twenty-six 11-16 year old pupils from across the county, with the aim of reintroducing them to mainstream education as they approach secondary school age. Pupils will generally display challenging behaviour associated with autism, attachment disorder, ADHD and PDA – this can include both verbal and physical outbursts on a daily basis.

We are seeking individuals who have experience of challenging behaviour both inside and outside of the classroom, with mainstream curriculum knowledge coming second to hands-on experience of working with demanding SEN pupils or children from more difficult social backgrounds.

Ongoing support and training will be provided. Candidates will be required to work independently with smaller groups, supporting them with their work and encouraging socialisation and the development of life skills.

All applicants must be drivers with their own car!

As this is bank work, hours are not guaranteed, however as a supplier of staff to a vast network of PRU and behaviour settings throughout Manchester, we are able to offer regular, full-time employment across a variety of settings, subject to suitability and experience.

For more information please feel free to contact Neal the SEN Specialist on 0161 242 1798 and email a copy of your CV to neal.sutton@teachingpersonnel.com.
