Behaviour Support Worker required in Bradford PRU

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant, possessing valid Team-Teach training, to work within a specialist SEN school in Bradford. The school provides a rich and varied curriculum for pupils aged 2-19 with a wide range of Special Educational Needs.

You will possess a valid Team-Teach certificate and have prior experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs in an education, or care setting. You will have a working knowledge of meeting the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people and will have experience in the planning, development and implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and of Positive Handling Plans (PHP).

You will have a holistic approach to teaching and learning with the ability to build positive working relationships with both staff and pupils. You will work closely with your colleagues to plan and deliver high quality sessions designed to encourage positive interaction and raise self esteem. You will have the ability to promote good practice in a professional and inclusive manner.

The successful candidate will have experience of using Team Teach strategies to support pupils who may be at risk of reaching crisis. You will have a sound understanding of supporting pupils who have additional learning needs such as Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Additional experience using PECs or Makaton would also be beneficial.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
