Behaviour Support TA / Outreach Worker

THE SCHOOL

A school for children and young people who need a fresh start in their school life. Their school progress may have been limited by problems with behaviour, learning difficulties, reading and writing or a particular condition.

The school start from the needs of the young person, base courses on their interests and areas for improvement and give them real encouragement and self belief to succeed. They also fulfil the requirement to cover all areas of learning so the student gains a broad, balanced education. Students at the school feel safe and free to develop their interests and their education in a way they find exciting and realistic. Staff at the school achieve a good balance between an informal, family atmosphere and a workmanlike approach to getting things done!

THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for specialist Teaching Assistants to working within this fantastic school on a full-time basis. As a member of support staff, your role will include working with young people on a group and 1:1 basis. Together with a fantastic team you will also be able to work on an Outreach basis; working with the children and their families at home, in school and in the community.

Desirable Candidate Attributes:

- Any previous experience supporting / mentoring young people
- Sports Coaching / Instructing or Youth Work experience
- Passion to support some of the most vulnerable children in the county achieve within education
- Dedication to becoming a fully immersed member of an already well established team
- Outgoing, approachable and hard-working

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
