Behaviour support TA, Kidbrooke School, Greenwich

Role: Behaviour mentor required for specialist behaviour secondary school in the Kidbrooke area.

Description: I am looking for a behaviour mentor who is resilient and enjoys working with children who have challenging behaviour, sometimes as a result of difficult home lives. You must be able to inspire students to succeed, despite their barriers to learning.

£60 - £75 per day, dependent on experience

The school:

  • Is an alternative provision for students who have not been able to stay in mainstream school due to their behaviour
  • Has academic lessons in the morning and alternative activities to offer in the afternoon focussing on the development of their social skills and life skills
  • Only has a small number of students
  • Has a great relationship between staff, students and parents
  • Has a great team of staff who work together to ensure the students are learning and developing every day

The role:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a particular student in year 11, as well as the others in the class
  • Build a rapport with all students and assist their social and emotional development as well as their academic ability
  • Provide effective behaviour support, including assisting with physical intervention where absolutely necessary
  • Working hours are 08:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only
  • Assuming you do well in your first week, this role is guaranteed for at least the rest of the academic year
