Job Title: 1:1 Tutor – Milton Keynes

Location: Milton Keynes and surrounding areas (in-person sessions in homes and community settings)
Hours: Part-time / Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (weekly PAYE pay)

About the Role
TP Tutors is seeking dedicated and passionate 1:1 Tutors to support children and young people across Milton Keynes in English and/or Maths. This role involves working with learners outside of mainstream school settings, helping them rebuild confidence, close learning gaps, and re-engage with their education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference through personalised, child-centred tuition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored 1:1 sessions in English and/or Maths.

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of learners, including those with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs.

  • Use effective behaviour management and engagement strategies.

  • Track progress and provide clear feedback to the tuition team and/or parents/carers.

  • Create a positive, supportive learning environment that builds confidence and independence.

Requirements

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) is preferred; strong tutoring or teaching experience will also be considered.

  • Strong subject knowledge in English and/or Maths.

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with additional needs.

  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one (support provided).

  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
