Behaviour Support Assistant – Complex SEND School (Southampton)

Location: Southampton
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Hours: 8:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are looking for confident, resilient and motivated individuals to join a complex SEND school in Southampton, supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a background in education, youth work or sports coaching who has a passion for helping young people develop positive behaviours, confidence and resilience.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour and helping them engage positively in learning

  • Promoting emotional regulation, resilience and social development

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage positive outcomes

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and other professionals

  • Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Background in education, youth work or sports coaching

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • A patient, calm and proactive approach

  • A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS, or willingness to apply

  • Availability for full-time work, 8:45am to 3:15pm, term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
