TEACHING ASSISTANT - FUTURE PGCE APPLICANTS

  • Are you a recent graduate?
  • Are you looking for a career in teaching?
  • Are you looking for more classroom experience before applying for your PGCE?
  • 2nd September start date for whole academic year with option to switch to a permanent school contract after Christmas.

Teaching Personnel are looking for highly motivated and passionate graduates looking to gain valuable experience supporting teachers in a classroom environment. This particular school is based in Cardiff in CF23. Having hosted a number of PGCE teachers in the past during their placement, the school has been really impressed with the commitment and calibre these students have shown. Ultimately, they want to extend an opportunity to other candidates who might be considering a career in teaching. This would be a first step in the door.

The three particular roles will be based in the SEN provision of the school. The Special Needs Co-ordinator is specifically looking for candidates who are confident working with 11-15 year olds with autism and challenging behaviour.

The school implements a strong behaviour code with an excellent reputation built on the quality of their teachers. There is a high expectation placed on the students but a committed and passionate faculty ensures that they have all the resources necessary for their success.

The school is situated just outside of the city centre and is one of the most highly regarded schools in the area. The community and cohesive ethos in the school has established a brilliant learning environment maintained through strong leadership.

As you will be working with students with challenging behaviours and special needs it is important that you are resilient, able to think of solutions quickly and able to maintain an effective learning environment. Previously, potential PGCE applicants have found teaching assistant work a very useful way of integrating into a permanent teaching role.

For the right candidate Teaching Personnel can offer you;

  • Excellent Rates of Pay
  • Career Progression and Development
  • A Dedicated team of recruiters to support your application process
  • Introductory Trial days into the school
  • Excellent experience if you want to become a teacher
  • The possibilities to Coach your own schools sports teams
  • £50 refer a friend bonus

If this sounds like an area where you could excel in then please apply via the link provided. One of our dedicated Secondary Team Consultants will be in touch to discuss your application further.
