Behaviour Support Assistant - September 2019 - Oldham

Job description

A full time position for a teaching assistant with extensive experience working with pupils with SEMH needs. The position is full time and commences in September 2019 and will involve working 5 days per week 8.30 - 3.30pm. The position will initially run until the end of the academic year, however for the right candidate there may be an opportunity for a permeant position within the school.

The setting is an outstanding Multi Academy trust which operates across 4 sites in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The role will involve working in co-operation with a qualified teacher to support the ongoing development of all pupils. Due to the specific needs of the pupils the ideal teaching assistant will have experience working with those who display signs of challenging behaviours.

The ideal teaching assistant will have:

  • Team- Teach
  • An understanding of how to cater for pupils with SEN needs
  • A commitment to assuring that all pupils have the necessary support in order to achieve the optimal potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
