Teaching Personnel are currently seeking Behaviour Support Assistants in the Bournemouth area to work in a specialist school, catering for pupils with complex needs. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but may include:
- Behavioural difficulties
- Anti-social and disengaged behaviour
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
- ADHD
- Autism (ASC)
The Role:
Applicants will be working in a classroom supporting teachers and fellow support workers on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with pupils.
The role will operate between 8:30 - 16:30, Monday - Friday.
Full time is preferred but part time applicants may still apply, as job shares can be available for the right candidate.
There is opportunity for permanent employment with this position.
This position may involve taking candidates out of the school setting, so its important you hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and business insurance.
The Candidate:
Ideal candidates may need to be able to drive but it isn't essential, as long as you can get to Devizes for work.
Ideal applicants should have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs professionally. We find candidates with experience in the following positions, succeed in this role:
- Psychology
- Youth/Community work experience
- Care worker
- Challenging behaviour within family
- Mentoring
- SEN Experience
- Police/Army Experience
Applicants will be working in a classroom setting so should have a passion for mentoring pupils closely through their differentiated curriculum.
Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
