Based in a Secondary School in Monmouthshire
November 2nd start
Pay GBP300 - GBP370 per week
Our Newport Secondary Branch here at Teaching Personnel are working closely in partnership with a large secondary school in Monmouthshire who are currently recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for some behaviour support. You will be on the mainstream school campus within a unit where the children are sent if they are struggling in mainstream classes. This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience in managing challenging behaviour whilst looking at the psychology behind it and what to implement to minimize frustrations.
The pupils are in need of a role model to guide them through their school day as well as life. The learning co-ordinator has identified a small group of pupils who you would be working with to assist their behavioural and academic needs. The pupils have shown that they can engage in the work that is set but are easily disrupted which has a negative affect on their behaviour. You will be in charge of keeping learning on track and managing behaviour through workshops or games tailored to the individual.
