Teaching Personnel's Kent Primary Team are currently seeking a behaviour specialist support worker/teaching assistant for a position in a primary school located in the Strood area of Medway. The role will be supporting on a 1:1 basis with a male in KS2 who often displays challenging and disengaged behaviours. The ideal candidate would be resilient, with the ability to de-escalate volatile situations effectively whilst maintaining a good level of communication and rapport with the student. This role will be working both inside and outside of the main classroom setting, with the view to reintegrate the student into the classroom on a full time basis.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering 1:1 intervention, assisting the class teacher in the preparation of inspiring lessons and resources to maintain motivation and engagement from the student. We are looking for a passionate support worker who is able to commit to a full time role in order to raise attainment and build a positive relationship. It is important to note that for this role, consistency for the student is crucial.

 

Essential Qualifications and Traits;

- CACHE Level 2 or equivalent

- Experience working within a Primary school

- Experience working with Special Education Needs (SEN)

- Passionate and prepared to have a hands on approach

 

Desired Qualifications and Traits;

- Team Teach Training or other verbal or physical de escalation training are desirable but candidates with this, could be favoured.

- Confidence and ability to make professional and friendly working relationships with the pupils, their families and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
