A secondary school located in the Hartlepool area is searching for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work within its small class groups of pupils who are struggle in mainstream education come September.
There is potentioanl for this role to be held on a full time or part time basis dependant on the candidate and will commence in the new academic year. The role will be ongoing throughout the year however there is strong potential for this to continue further should you be successful in the role.
The position will involve working with a small group Key Stage 3 and 4 students. The students have varying Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties sometimes causing challenging behaviour. The candidate will need to be confident in managing challenging behaviour as well as being enthusiastic and a positive role model for the students! You will be working with children from a mix of backgrounds, including children in looked after care. You will play a large role in the monitoring of students progress and development both in terms of their academic and personal achievements.
Ideally for this role, you will have experience with challenging behaviour and will be confident managing this. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including social and youth work. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced special needs teachers as well as specialist teaching assistants. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
