Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Due to a change in their support department, our client school in Oldham are looking to appoint a behaviour support assistant on a full time basis, to work with students who regularly display challenging behaviour as well as those who are at risk of being excluded.

- Support the pastoral team providing social and emotional support to students

- Liaise with teaching and senior staff about the behaviour of key students

- Encourage pupil cooperation and progression in lessons and around the school

- Gain paid experience working in a secondary school setting before potentially moving on to teacher training

- January 2019 start, two term requirement

Our client school is a large, diverse secondary school situated on the Oldham-Rochdale border serving the local areas of Newhey, Shaw and Royton. The school is ideally located near the M62 motorway, making it accessible from both Manchester and Leeds for any interested applicants. The school was most recently judged to be Good by Ofsted in the most recent inspection with general behaviour of the students being positive.

This position as a behaviour support assistant will entail working with individual and small groups of students who are at risk of exclusion and in need of improving their focus on learning. One of the key areas of the position as a behaviour support assistant is acting as a role model and ensuring students are aware of the expectations of behaviour in a school setting.

If you would like to be taken in to consideration for this position as a behaviour support assistant, please apply via the link provided or contact Miles at Manchester North Secondary.
