  • Working with a group of students who have difficulty in being within the mainstream classroom.
  • Monitoring the behaviour of a group of students, ensuring that they are adhering to school policy whenever necessary.
  • Working with students on both on both an individual and group basis with pupils.

The necessary skills required for this position:

  • Resilience in the face of adversity – being able to deal with potentially difficult situations in a fast and effective manner is imperative.
  • Patience – when dealing with students who display challenging behaviours.
  • Pro-activeness – being able to think on the spot, and quickly implement strategies to enhance pupil development.
  • Being able to think on your feet, and be able to tackle problems, often having to find solutions quickly.
  • Organisational skills - it is essential that the applicant is well organised
  • Solid communication skills - both with regards to verbal and non verbal communication.

The school:

  • Located in Macclesfield, the school is a short distance away from Manchester city centre.
