Behaviour Support Assistant – Durham
£90–£110 per day
Full-time and part-time roles available
Start Date: September 2025

Do you have a calm and supportive nature, and a genuine desire to help young people succeed? We are currently recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to work in schools and alternative settings across Durham, starting in September 2025.

This role is ideal for individuals who are confident working with students who need extra support with behaviour, emotional regulation, or social development. Your support will play a vital role in helping them stay focused, build confidence, and succeed in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students with behavioural, emotional, or social needs
• Work one-to-one or in small groups to establish structure and trust
• Implement behaviour strategies in line with individual support plans
• Respond calmly and consistently to behavioural challenges
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or vulnerable young people in education, care, or similar settings
• A patient, empathetic approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Confidence in managing behaviour in a positive and consistent way
• A DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
• Reliable, proactive and open to ongoing learning
