Behaviour Support Assistant Needed
Bargoed, Caerphilly | Term-Time | Full-Time
Monday – Friday | 08:30 – 15:00 | £90 per day
Start Date: 5th January 2026
Contract: Until end of academic year (July 2026)
We’re delighted to be working with a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit in Bargoed who are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive, pupil-centred environment and is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential.

Your Role
-
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for learners aged 11–18

Work collaboratively with teachers to create engaging, structured learning experiences

Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and inclusion

Offer personalised support to students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and various social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Who We’re Looking For
-
Experience working with children or young people with ALN, SEBD, or behavioural needs
-
Backgrounds welcome from: behaviour support, youth work, police, prison service, armed forces, coaching (football, rugby, boxing), mentoring, support work, community work, or classroom roles such as Teaching Assistant

Confident using positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and participation

Empathetic, patient, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
