Behaviour Mentor teaching assistant

- Salary from - GBP325 - GBP335 a week
- Bury (BL9) primary school
This role is working on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 2 with ADHD challenging behaviour. This school in Bury (M26) has a high catchment area for children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. Because of this, the primary school requires a strong behaviour mentor with experience working with hard to reach children in a school setting or in a support role outside of school. This role will be starting in September 2020 and carry on until the end of the academic year.
The role of Behaviour Mentor will incorporate delivering short intervention strategies outside of the class room to improve behaviour whilst implementing the school behaviour policy and monitoring progress. You will work directly with the schools SEN Co-ordinator and Inclusion Manager, alongside class teachers to ensure all pupils are able to access learning and display positive behaviour.
The school has created a specialist provision for children with social emotional mental health needs to support pupil who are struggling in school. 1:1 work will also be carried out here along the specialist SEN team.
- Experience working with challenging behaviour is essential
- Supporting students inside the classroom and in the schools nurture unit.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
