Behaviour mentors needed for Tameside Secondary Schools in September.

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Behaviour Mentors on behalf of a number of client schools across the borough of Tameside to support pupil behaviour within their school moving into the new academic year.

The role of a Behaviour Mentor will consist of supporting specific students who have social emotional mental health, behavioural or counselling support needs.

This highly rewarding Behaviour Mentor role is well suited to individuals with experience of supporting young people in an educational, health/social care or youth work setting. This is a full time post working with students on a small group and at times 1:1 basis. You will be working alongside the schools Special Educational Needs Department who will provide regular training and specific strategies to ensure pupils have the best possible learning experience and are achieving expected levels of progress. If you are currently working in a similar role or have relevant experience and considering a transition into a role within educational support work we welcome your application.

Highlights of this Behaviour Mentor Role;

  • Number of temporary 12 month roles with opportunities to earn a fixed term/permanent contract
  • Initial rates of pay ranging from £275-£350 per week

To apply for this role you will need to have a passion for developing young people, patience and empathy to adjust as required to the needs of the students. Previous experience working with secondary education or relevant qualifications in youth work, social care or counselling would be beneficial but not essential criteria. Suitable teaching references and eligibility for a fully enhanced DBS certificate will be a requirement.The school will be looking to conduct interviews prior to the academic year in September so you must attend to be successful.
