Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you a dedicated and confident Graduate looking for school-based experience? Do you have future aspirations to become an Educational Psychologist, Counsellor, Teacher or SENCO?

As a Graduate Behaviour Mentor, you will be able to connect with students excluded from mainstream education, or unable to access mainstream education. Finding the balance of academic and personal development will be essential to the role, to ensure students can progress in the future. You will be assisting with lessons throughout the day, as well as working 1:1 with specific students; delivering pre-planned lessons in areas requiring improvement.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Graduates looking to gain experience, with flexible working hours and competitive rates of pay starting at £9.50 per hour. Along with rewarding pay rates, this job role offers high job-satisfaction, working with vulnerable children, predominantly from under-privileged backgrounds.

The School you will be working in has been most recently graded as Good by OFSTED. They have a very inclusive approach to learning, with a range of courses available in Year 10 and 11, such as GCSEs, BTECs and Vocational courses available. You will need to develop and implement strategies that can remove, or overcome barriers to learning to enable the young person to access their full potential.

Ideally you will have full time availability, however 3 days a week will also be considering for the right person. This is primarily a classroom based role, but with a lot of sports facilities on-site, you might be required to assist within Physical Education sessions as well.

If you feel this is the perfect opportunity to start your career in education, please contact Kerry Fowler at Teaching Personnel's Hull and Lincoln SEN Branch as soon as possible!
