Behaviour Mentor - Wigan

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit an experience Youth Worker, Mentor or Behaviour specialist that is wishing to source a new challenging position for September 2018?

If you have experience dealing with and supporting hard to reach, and vulnerable young people then we would love to hear from you.

Our client secondary school that is based in Wigan are looking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor after recently receiving funding which allows them to facilitate the employment of a temporary Behaviour Mentor to work with their identified students that are joining the school in September 2018.

  • Full time Behaviour Mentor required, September 2018 start
  • Initially offered for one academic year, continuation subject to additional funding and requirement
  • Pay dependent on previous experience, up to £1400 per month
  • Previous experience working with hard to reach and challenging young people is essential
  • Opportunities to engage with additional CPD throughout position.

The Intervention Manager at our client school is looking to appoint someone who can deal with instances of challenging behaviour in a calm manner. Someone who can build good relationships with pupils and easily help them refocus if they become distracted or are struggling to engage during the lesson.

  • Supporting individual pupils who display challenging behaviour across all subject areas including; Maths, English and Science.
  • Working with pupils on a 1-to-1 basis and in small groups to promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Primarily responsible for the management of behaviour of individual students throughout the school day whilst promoting good behaviour practice to other students throughout the school.

Our client Secondary school is a Roman Catholic school with around 1300 pupils currently on roll. The pupils within school show respect for adults and for each other and their highly conscientious attitudes to learning are an important factor in their achievement. The school is located on the outskirts of Wigan bordering Salford which makes for easy access from surrounding areas; St Helens, Warrington, Leigh and Chorley.
