Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a Behaviour Manager for a Secondary school in Northamptonshire!


Job Title: Behaviour Manager
Location: Northampton (NN2 area)
Salary: £37,035 per annum (pro rata for 41 weeks: £34,198.99)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (2 years), Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week


Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Behaviour Manager to join a forward-thinking and supportive secondary school environment. This fixed-term role offers the chance to have a meaningful impact on student behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing while supporting a culture of high expectations and consistent pastoral support.

About the Role

The Behaviour Manager will be a key member of the school’s pastoral structure and will be responsible for:

  • Setting high behaviour expectations and maintaining a positive school culture
  • Managing and coordinating the day-to-day implementation of the school’s behaviour strategy
  • Supporting students through behaviour interventions, reintegration plans, and inclusion processes
  • Assisting with lesson removal, seclusion, and suspension support procedures
  • Communicating effectively with students, staff, and families to ensure that behaviour standards are upheld and students are supported holistically
  • Playing a visible and active role in daily school life, including being a regular presence during high-traffic times and school transitions

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to GCSE level / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (including English and Maths)
  • Experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours
  • Ability to implement and manage behaviour management strategies effectively
  • Strong ICT and data recording skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain well-organised and calm under pressure
  • Proven ability to communicate with students, families, and staff in a pastoral support role

Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Relevant pastoral or behaviour management qualifications
  • Previous experience in a leadership or behaviour-focused position within a school or similar setting
