Join Teaching Personnel as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant!

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and caring individual to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Blackpool (FY1) as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, providing essential support for a child with high-level behaviour and an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).

Hours: Monday-Friday (8:30-15:30).

Rate of pay: Competitive rates of pay between £13.75 - £14.50.

Location: Blackpool (FY1).

Start date: November 2025. 

Key Responsibilities

-        Work closely with a specific child, tailoring your assistance to their unique needs outlined in their EHCP. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

-        Collaborate with the class teacher, special education professionals, and parents to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to support the child's development.

-        Employ effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours, helping the child to engage positively in the learning experience.

-        Provide one-on-one academic support, adapting teaching methods to accommodate the child's learning style and pace.

Qualifications and skills

ü  Previous experience in a similar role or a strong desire to make a meaningful impact in the education sector.

ü  Understanding of EHCPs and experience working with children with behavioural needs.

ü  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
