Autism Teaching Assistant

Job description

We are currently looking for Autism experienced teaching assistants to join our team in this North London School. Individuals with backgrounds as teaching assistants, support workers, care assistants or those who have personal experience caring for children with Autism are highly desireable for this role.

The school works with children from 3-16 years old with a diagnosis of Autism. Class sizes averagely have 8 children who are supported by a teacher and 3 to 4 teaching assistants. As well as having Autism, children have varying speech and language skills with some being completely non-verbal, therefore those with experience using BSL, Makaton or PECS are urged to apply as non-verbal communication is widely used throughout the school. You will have the opportunity to work both on a 1:1 basis with children and in the wider classroom asisting with learning, play and behaviour management.

The ideal candidate will:

- Have experience working with children with Autism

-Have right to work in the uk

-Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

-Be organised and have good timekeeping skills

Day Rates: GBP60-GBP75
