Autism Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel is working with a number of SEN schools and alternative provisions in Scarborough, catering for primary and secondary aged students. Students have a range of Special Educational Needs, varying from moderate to complex learning difficulties and including those on the Autism Spectrum. We are looking for SEN teaching assistants to work within the school on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis and offering general classroom support. You will benefit from ongoing support from both Teaching Personnel and your school, as well as on going professional development with a range of courses such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness and NASEN available.

  • Must have at least 6 months of experience working as a Teaching Assistant / or in an alternative provision
  • Special Needs (SEN) experience is a must, with Autism and SEMH desirable
  • Available on a full time basis, or part time if you have set days available each week
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing
  • Patient & Confident
