Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

A large, multicultural primary school based in the Forest Gate area of Newham are looking for a number of new autism specialist support staff for openings that are due to arise in the coming weeks in their resource base.

The school has a 'children first' ethos and aim to provide an outstanding, vibrant and dynamic learning community. They have access to excellent facilities and provisions, boasting their own pre-school, day care centre and autism provision. It was graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2017 with particular praise for the resources available and the progress that the pupils make from the beginning of their school journey.

Due to an increased number of children in the school on the autism spectrum, the school are looking to recruit new teaching assistants that have experience in this area. Candidates must have at least 6 months experience supporting children with autism. You must also have a proactive approach to work and be able to easily adapt to an ever-changing environment and job role. The school run their own 'School's Direct' programme so this would be a fantastic opportunity for someone that is looking to train as a teacher in the future.

The school can offer:

  • Children who are proud of their school and support each other with their learning through excellent behaviour
  • Staff who are curious about learning and enthusiastic and motivated to provide memorable learning experiences
  • A curriculum that is exciting and challenging with a strong tradition of sport and performing arts
  • Discounted places at the schools day care centre

Working through Teaching Personnel also offers a range of benefits including:

  • Weekly pay
  • Regular courses and training opportunities through our CPD Academy
  • A dedicated, specialist consultant for each London borough
  • Candidate referral bonus

The school are looking to trial for these positions over the next couple of weeks. During the trial you will get chance to look around the school, meet the team and work with a small group of children while they assess your suitability for the position and the school. We anticipate a lot of interest in these positions so if you would like to be considered then please apply as soon as possible.
