Autism Specialist Support Assistant required- Hyndburn

Teaching Personnel have seen an increase in schools requiring SEN experienced Support Practitioners to work with small groups of children and on a 1:1 basis, who are in need of additional support. These needs vary from children with Autism, ADHD and Social Emotional & Mental Health difficulties.

Schools have approached Teaching Personnel in order to shortlist experienced Support Assistant's who would be required to work with a Year 4 Pupil, the position would be to start after the Easter Holidays. The role will be to work on a 1:1 basis supporting the child throughout the working day and to supervise him at Lunch time. The role will be 5 days a week working from 8:30-15:30 on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent.

It is vital that you have recent and previous experience working alongside children diagnosed with Autism. It is also preferable that you have experience working with PECs and have used or had training in MAKATON or something similar, however this is not critical.

The Primary School itself is graded 'Good' by Ofsted and the Head Teacher has stated she is keen to support the successful candidate and is prepared to place the successful candidate on professional development courses in order to upskill their current knowledge during their time at the school.

The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day position held Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £8.40-£10.50 per hour. Additional salary may increase depending on the interest of welfare.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
