Autism Provision looking for a Teaching Assistant

Our partner specialist school in Timperley, Trafford require a Teaching Assistant to support within a KS1 Autism class. This class is mainly boys, all of whom are on the Autistic Spectrum and require additional support with their learning. This class can display relatively challenging behaviours, therefore any additional behaviour management training would be desirable, if not, strong behaviour management skills would be ideal. The school are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant onto a permanent contract after completing a 'probation period'.
This school is a good school with many outstanding features. They are ambitious for all the children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. They cater for children and young people aged 5 - 19 years of age with learning difficulties, communication difficulties and those of the Autistic Spectrum. Their aim is to engage all in learning through outstanding and creative teaching, supporting all on their faith journey wherever that may be.
If you are a Teaching Assistant with;
* Experience working with individuals with Autism
* A passion for promoting the learning and independence of young people with additional needs
* Have previous experience working with young people in an educational setting
Any relevant qualifications would be desirable.
As this position is starting immediately, it would be ideal for the Teaching Assistant to have an enhanced DBS on the update service
