ASD Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a Primary School in near L16/L15 n who are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant. The role will be supporting a child in with ASD in reception on a 1:1 basis. This role is full-time position starting as soon as possible, they are requiring someone to be flexible due to monitoring the childs progress. The length of the role will be dependant on the successful transition of the pupil. Experience working with pupils with Autism is essential.

The ideal candidate needs to have had experience working with pupils with the following:

  • Autism
  • Challenging and physical behaviour ( not aggressive)
  • Non Verbal

 

The ideal candidate will be given further training around Bucket Therapy and intensive interaction.  If you have significant experience of supporting pupils with Attention Autism or have Autism training then please contact us.

The school is a catholic average-sized primary school. An above-average proportion of pupils are disadvantaged and in receipt of support through pupil premium funding. The school experiences high levels of mobility, with pupils entering and leaving the school midterm. The majority of pupils are from a wide range of minority ethnic groups. Almost half speak English as an additional language. The proportion of pupils who have SEN and/or disabilities is above average. No pupils have education, health and care plans or a statement of special educational needs. The school is based in the Kensington area of Liverpool close to public transport links at Edge Hill and the M62 motor way.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
