A full time position for a Teaching Assistant commencing as soon as possible and running until the end of the academic year. This particular role will involve working under the guidance of the Classroom Teacher to support pupils with ASC in reaching their full potential.
This Setting is a Small Secondary Special Needs School situated in Tameside. This particular Setting currently has 75 pupils enrolled and provides education for pupils 11- 16 who have a range of needs which may include: complex learning difficulties, Autism and Down syndrome. The pupils who attend this Setting have a wide range of SEN needs so Teaching Assistants who have a knowledge of SEN and experience supporting pupils with SEN would be desirable.
This particular role will involve providing support to pupils with high and low functioning ASC so it would be desirable for Teaching Assistants to have experience with individuals with ASC, however this is not essential.
- Experience working within a Special Needs Setting
- An in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and assuring that learning is accessible to all pupils
- A commitment to assuring the optimal development of pupils with complex needs
- Experience supporting pupils high functioning ASC

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
