Teaching Personnel (Burnley) are actively looking to recruit a support assistant to work 1:1 with a child in a year 4 class. With this in mind, the school has stressed it is essential you have worked either on a voluntary/temporary or on a permanent basis in a Primary setting before now and have a experience/passion to work on a 1:1 basis with ‘challenging’ children. It is beneficial to have at least one academic year experience in a school environment.
The role will be to work in line with the school working hours, which are generally around 27-32 per week. The Head teacher has stressed that she would like someone preferably experienced in working with Special Educational Needs and a Level 2 or 3 qualifications is appropriate. With the pupil attending regular appointments there will be an opportunity to work elsewhere within school as a general teaching assistant so it is important that you are up to speed with the Curriculum needs and have a good standard of verbal and written English.
