Teaching Assistant required with experience of supporting children with Autism and ADHD.

  • Weekly pay of up £65 per day for the right candidate
  • CPD academy available offering courses such as NASEN, Moving and Handling, Autism Awareness and Team Teach
  • Rewarding role helping young children make small steps in attainment

We are now looking to recruit teaching assistants that are experienced or who have an interest in teaching children who are on the Autistic spectrum.

Your new primary school

This caring, positive primary school based in Leicester is looking to recruit a qualified teaching assistant to support a specific pupil in year 3 with autism on a one-to-one basis. The school is committed to developing pupils confidence and development and so are seeking a primary teaching assistant with previous experience supporting children with autism to contribute to their dedicated, supportive team.

Your new role

As a year 3 teaching assistant, you will use your passion about supporting pupils development to support a specific child in year 3 with autism on a one-to-one basis. Your job as a year 3 primary teaching assistant will involve working with a specific pupil to increase their engagement within the classroom and improve their academic progression. You will be responsible for monitoring the child’s progression and ensuring appropriate support is provided to this specific child with autism.

What you'll need to succeed

You must hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent as well as recent, previous experience in a classroom environment as a learning support practitioner, supporting children with Autism. Knowledge of PECS and/or Makaton is desirable and you must be familiar with IEP formulation, delivery and review. You must also be able to plan and delivery age appropriate programmes of work and have excellent communication skills.
