ASC Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are searching for an Autism Experienced Learning Support Assistant for a secondary SEN school in Portsmouth. The role is to start in the Summer term but could be brought forward for the right candidate.

The role will be providing support for secondary aged pupils with varying levels of Autism, they may require substantial support with difficulties in verbal and non-verbal social communication, change in routine and developing relationships with peers. You will be expected to provide some 1:1 support for students.

The ideal candidate should have experience working with secondary aged students with Special Educational Needs and/or Autism, any relevant safeguarding or autism specific qualifications are beneficial. Anyone with experience with working with Autistic children outside of the school environment i.e., caring, family would also be considered. It’s essential to have a warm and personable demeanour to help the student develop socially.

• Earn between GBP1200 - GBP1300 per month depending on experience
• Work as part of a supportive SEN team
• Expected Monday 19th April

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
