Specialist Art Teacher (with Technology)

September 2024

Temporary to Permanent contract

The Job:

A High School within Preston wishes to appoint a hardworking, enthusiastic and committed Specialist Art Teacher who will also have experience of the Design Technology curriculum. If you are experienced, enthusiastic, open to new ideas and have a flexible ‘can do’ approach, we would welcome an application from you. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for those not eligible to work in the UK.

The Art Teacher will:

-       Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support the teaching of Art and Technology.

-       Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher and a form tutor.

-       Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.

-       Contribute to raising standards of student attainment.

-       Share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

What are the job requirements?

-       Qualified Teacher Status.

-       Qualified to at least degree level in Art/or adequate post degree conversion course.

-       Strong ICT skills for teaching.

-       A high level of self-awareness – knows strengths and weaknesses and can relate to difficult personality types well.

-       Proven record or evidence from teaching practice of potential to help students reach high standards of learning and achievement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
