Position: Alternative Provision Tutor (Secondary)

Location: Across Lincolnshire

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Alternative Provision Tutor, you will play a crucial role in transforming the lives of students facing obstacles in their learning journey. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering Engaging and Personalised Tuition: Provide one-on-one or small group tuition in core and foundation subjects across Key Stages and ensure tailored support to their specific needs and learning styles.
  • Building a Positive and Supportive Learning Environment: Create a nurturing and empathetic space that fosters students' confidence, self-esteem, and academic progress.
  • Addressing Unique Challenges: Develop strategies to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges, assisting them in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Collaborating with Schools and Staff: Work closely with schools, teachers, and other support staff to create a holistic and cohesive approach to each student's education.
  • Developing Individualised Learning Plans: Design personalised learning plans for students to help them achieve their academic goals and overcome social and emotional difficulties.
  • Monitoring Progress and Providing Feedback: Regularly assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to both students and school staff via our online learning platform.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

  • A Passion for Supporting Diverse Student Needs: A genuine desire to help students in alternative provision reach their full potential and succeed academically and emotionally.
  • Experience in Working with Alternative Provision and SEMH: Previous experience in tutoring or teaching students in alternative provision or those with SEMH and behavioural challenges is highly beneficial.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Effective communication and empathy are essential to establish a connection with students and support their individual needs.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be able to adapt your teaching approach to cater to the unique demands of each student and provide a flexible learning environment.
  • Valid DBS Certificate: A current Child Workforce DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or willingness to obtain one is necessary.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
