About Us: Teaching Personnel is proud to collaborate with a leading specialist Pupil Referral Unit specialising in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This innovative school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically and emotionally. Students are working towards GCSEs, however many are disengaged from education. The provision aims to provide additional guidance and motivation to help them succeed.

Job Description: We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join our partner school's passionate team. As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education tailored to the specific needs of students with SEMH difficulties. Your focus will be on providing targeted support to help students develop coping strategies, regulate emotions, and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons to support student wiht GCSE studies, whilst addressing the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
  • Utilise therapeutic approaches and evidence-based interventions to support students in developing coping strategies and regulating their emotions.
  • Collaborate with the school's multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff, to create individualised education plans (IEPs) and provide holistic support to students.
  • Differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students with SEMH difficulties.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and carers.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEMH education.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working as a teacher in a secondary school setting, preferably with experience in SEMH education.
  • Strong understanding of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, along with evidence-based strategies for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students with SEMH needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
