ALN Teaching Assistant – Swansea & Carmarthen

Teaching Personnel
Teaching Personnel are looking for experienced, compassionate, and dedicated ALN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across secondary schools and specialist ALN provisions in Swansea and Carmarthen.

The Role
You’ll support pupils with a wide range of ALN needs, including:
ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition)
⚡ ADHD
Dyslexia & Dyscalculia
PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties)
SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs)
Support may be delivered 1:1 or in small groups, helping pupils to:
✅ Engage with learning
✅ Develop emotional regulation
✅ Access tailored interventions
You’ll often work with IDPs (Individual Development Plans) or One Page Profiles to provide personalised, meaningful support
️ Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Supporting learning and classroom engagement
- Promoting emotional wellbeing and social development
- Adapting resources and strategies to individual needs
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
✅ Requirements
To be considered, you’ll need:
✔️ Enhanced Child Only DBS (on Update Service or willing to apply)
✔️ EWC Registration (or willingness to register)
✔️ Experience supporting pupils with ALN (preferred)
✔️ Health & Social Care or relevant qualification (desirable)
✔️ A patient, reliable, and empathetic approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
