Advisory Teacher Role

Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a client who are recruiting for a Part Time role from September as Advisory Teacher. This role is part time - 3 days per week (Tuesdays as essential and the rest of the week flexible).

The role involves:

  • Working across mainstream Primary and Secondary schools in addition to Nurseries in Nottingham City (Caseload of approximately 15 schools per week)
  • Liaising with a broad range of multi-disciplinary teams and professionals including SENCO's, Headteachers, Teachers and TA's
  • Offering Teaching strategies for SEN pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia and Dyscalculia), Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech and Language Difficulties, Complex Needs and Physical Disabilities
  • Referrals to other Multi-Disciplinary teams where appropriate
  • Assessments of SEN needs (no diagnostic work)
  • Training and coaching other staff members

The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years Teaching experience
  • Previous experience of being a SENCO or SLT within mainstream provisions (desirable but NOT essential)
  • Experience of delivering training to staff
  • Experience working with SEN pupils and knowledge of how to include/integrate them into mainstream classroom environments
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate with Multi-Disciplinary teams, SLT, Teachers and TA's
  • Familiar with behaviour plans, EHCP's and IEP's
  • Able to manage a heavy caseload of schools which need to be visited regularly, especially for children with an EHCP
  • Hold a driving licence with full access to a vehicle
