Adult Education Tutors wanted - Dartford

Date posted : 06/04/18
£120.00 - £150.00 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel (Kent Secondary branch) are currently working with an adult education company, based in Maidstone, who are seeking group tutors to lead education sessions within English, Maths, Functional Skills and Employability Skills. Some sessions include teaching customer service, retail and IT skills. The classes are, in most cases, no more than 15 learners at a time and the courses suit those seeking either shorter term roles (1 week - 3 weeks at a time) up to 3 months. All of the sessions are prepared and resourced and the successful candidates will need to attend a mandatory 1 day training programme in order to register you to the relevant awarding body for the qualification you will be teaching. This benefit of free training will be a positive addition to any CV.

The ideal candidate needs to:

  • hold PETLS/ DETLS or QTS
  • be able to commit once accepting the booking as consistency is paramount
  • be able to support and challenge learners, whilst keeping them motivated
  • be able to instil confidence in some learners who may have had a negative educational experience as a teen

Teaching Personnel also work with Secondary schools, therefore if you would like to work in both Secondary and Adult Education, look no further!

Before applying, it is important to be aware of the work times in both schools and adult education:

Schools - arrive 8.15am, leave 3.30pm

Adult education - arrive 8.30am, leave 5pm

You will be paid a daily rate, which will take into account how many hours you worked in that day (i.e. you will be paid more for a day teaching adult education than a Secondary school day).

If you feel you are right for this role, please send your CV over and if you fit the criteria, you will be contacted asap. Please ensure your phone number is clearly listed on your CV.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
