ADHD Teaching Assistant required

Secondary pupil referral unit in Yeovil have a temporary post in January for a SEN teaching assistant. Do you have experience supporting ADHD? Have you previously worked as an SEN teaching assistant and would you be interested in this full time post?

The school requires a SEN teaching assistant to become part of the team as short term cover for a member of staff who is off through illness. The position will involve the teaching assistant to work closely in small based classrooms with pupils who have individual education plans. As an SEN teaching assistant you will provide a safe environment and encourage each pupil to reach full potential.

The school caters for pupils who have ADHD and behavioural difficulties. The pupils are aged between 11-16. The work will be set by the class teacher and you will be required to keep the children engaged, keep noise down and keep control of pupil’s behaviour.

This is supply work and you will ideally have your own transport, if not be able to use public transport and commute to schools from a morning call.
