Are you a recent graduate in English or Maths and looking to progress towards a professional teaching career?

Are you available to start in November for an ongoing contract until the end of the academic year?

Do you want more experience within an educational environment and build your classroom awareness?

If you are passionate about supporting students with their academic learning and would like to gain some paid experience in a school as an Academic Learning Mentor, this could be the perfect role for you!

Academic Learning Mentor:

**Assisting students with either Maths or English

**Working closely in small groups of students and 1 to 1 support

**Full-Time Temporary contract ongoing to the end of the academic year

**Mon-Fri working hours with flexibility to suit your needs

**11-16 Secondary School in Warrington graded GOOD from Ofsted

**Paid £270-£325 per week on a weekly basis

**Easily accessible by public transport with an on-site car parking for all staff

The secondary school is currently recruiting an Academic Learning Mentor to work until the end of the academic year. You will need to be a recent graduate with a good academic record within Maths and English. This role would be ideal for you if you are an aspiring future teacher who either lives or can commute around the Warrington area. The learning mentor should be confident and be able to inspire students who will be struggling with their academic studies.

As an Academic Learning Mentor you will be working closely with Head of department. With an academic background you will need to support the students to fulfil their potential. You will mainly be working with KS3 students across the school but will also help KS4 students with the run up to their GCSE's. Intervention sessions in small groups of students will be delivered during the lead up to their GCSE's. You will also be required to work with year 7 & 8 students on a one to one basis whilst liaising with the either the Maths or English teachers.

Trains and buses are available on a regular basis for those who use public transport and the school has an on-site carpark. Experience teaching in a secondary school is desirable but not necessary. It is essential for you to have a good understanding with the current curriculum as well being experienced within an educational setting.
