ABA Tutor

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an Autism Specialist School. They have asked us to assist in there search for ABA tutors for the New Year!

The school supports primary and secondary aged pupils with Autism and associated disabilities that will interfere with learning. Some pupils will experience speech, language and communication difficulties, anxiety and depression.

Experience working in a setting with Autism is preferred. This is because some pupils will be non-verbal and may require specialist communication - Makaton and PEC's.

The school are looking for an ABA Tutor/Teaching Assistants who can work with during lessons supporting where supporting children 1:1 and providing reward based learning.

Successful ABA Tutor must have:

• Experience delivering ABA intervention programmes to pupil 1:1(not essential training will be given)
• Understanding Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD - academic or practical
• Experience as a support worker, classroom teaching assistant, foster carer or ABA Tutor
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Ability to monitor, observe and report on pupils progress daily
• Have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents and students
• Experience with PEC's, Makaton, Sign Language (not essential)

The school are looking for staff on a full time (8.30am-16.30pm) basis but will consider ABA Tutors/ Teaching part time depending on skills and experience. The school have a very good reputation in training staff to develop a career working with Autism.. This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, ABA Specialist or an individual who is resilient, patient and with a genuine passion to support those with additional needs.
